According to Grolier, for a child to be able to pick up any book and read it entirely on his own, he needs to have a reading vocabulary of about 5000 words.
There are many ways to increase your childs vocabulary. Disneys “Words, Words, Words” book series has been very popular. The books encourage to test out new words, like wild and tame – I am feeling wild today or I am famished instead of I am so hungry. Although there are many childrens dictionaries available but Words Words series draws the most attention.
