Currently based in Bangalore, George Mathen works on some comic stories and illustrations or watchs a movie. His first graphic novel 'Moonward' under his pen name Appupen, is out in stores now. As a freelancer he painted murals , banners, did body tattoos and tried event management while doing economics at St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. He has worked as a design consultant with Greenpeace, Essel Group, Ziqitza Healthcare, Megamart, Tata AIG, CRISIL, Manhattan cards, Fastrack and a host of clients in Bates advertising-Mumbai and Idiom Design and Consulting-Bangalore.
Visual communication is his area of interest. Mathen has used his preferred medium for some striking non commercial and effective commercial expression.He specialises in illustrations, brand identity and retail design.
