born October 7, 1946, Rajan bala is acknowledged as being the most perceptive of all cricket writers in India. He is the Consultant editor for The Asian Age for which, he contributes on a variety of subjects, and writes a weekly column titled, The Last Word.

He is the author of books like The Kiwis and the Kangaroos, All the Beautiful Boys, The Winning Hand and Glances at Perfection.
